FAQ

Is therapy right for me?

I’m a strong believer that everyone can benefit from therapy. Where else do you have a safe and supportive space that is entirely focused on you being heard and understood while encouraging you toward your goals? Often when first entering therapy people have expectations from movies and T.V. shows, however therapy can look like many different things depending on what you are hoping to achieve. It can be a place to let out your emotions, gain an outside perspective, work through life challenges, or even engage in collaborate in problem solving. Really, therapy can be tailored to fit your unique needs.

Do you bill insurance, or take cash pay?

Both! Insurance at WindRose is billed through out of network provider coverage. What this means is that at time of service your health insurance may cover part or all of the cost of your care. Often times due to geographical location and lack of in-network providers insurance companies will reimburse at in-network rates. Please take the time to call your insurance company and get pre-authorized for services by asking what your coverage for individual therapy (CPT code 90834 and/or 90837) or for family therapy (CPT code 90847) is. It is also helpful to find out what has been met on your deductible for you or your child, and what your co-pay or coinsurance amount will be. A 10% convenience discount is offered for self pay clients who pay with cash/check.

Please note that your contract is between you and your insurance provider and you are ultimately responsible for any unpaid services incurred.

Unfortunately at this time I do not take Denali Kid Care, Medicaid, or Medicare are unable to be billed at this time.

Where are you located?

All services are provided via a secure video platform in Telehealth format.

What documents do I need to bring to my first session?

Please click here to create your client portal where you can find all the necessary documents to start. These documents include a release of information that allows you to identify what (if any) Personal Health Information you would like WindRose to release to another provider or individual. If this is something you are interested in it is important that you read the form carefully and discuss this in detail with your provider. Please note that this release can be revoked at any time for any reason at your discretion.

Do you have a late policy?

One same day cancellation is allowed for a $50 fee as life happens at times. However after a second same day cancellation penalty charges will be issued at the full amount. No show appointments will be charged at 100% of the service price. This is due to the time and effort that is placed into being prepared for your session and a missed appointment taking away the opportunity for someone else to schedule at that time.

What’s the Difference between therapy and Life Coaching?

Therapy is focused on the use of a therapeutic relationship (typically) in a weekly fashion sessions to address your mental and emotional well-being through the development of coping skills, increased insight into negative thought and behavior patterns, and reprocessing of bothersome memories to help you better reach your life goals. Life coaching is an alternative form of therapeutic relationship focused on thriving in daily life once adequate coping skills and resiliency is established which allows for targeting specific life dreams.

Do you provide Couples Counseling?

Yes! I utilize an EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) approach in working with couples. Through couples counseling I seek to deepen the emotional connection between partners and help each person build awareness into their own attachment needs and behaviors in the relationship.

Are there couples you are unable to work with?

Due to my approach to couples counseling focusing on deepening the emotional connection in the relationship by developing a sense of attunement and support I do not see couples with active or recent histories of domestic violence, infidelity, or who are in the process of separation/divorce.

I am a sex positive therapist that is kink aware and ethical non-monogamy friendly.
